Doris Watson Farris

Doris Watson Farris, 91, of Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021. She was born on November 23, 1929 in McDowell County to the late Michael Isaiah Watson and Mary “Odie” Queen Watson. Doris was a devoted wife and mother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Benjamin Lewis Farris; sons-in-law, Arnold Romani, Cliff Stamper and Andy Pollard; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

She is survived by her children, Donald Lewis Farris (Brenda), Wanda Farris Mills (Ronald), Ellen Farris Romani, Judy Farris Stamper, Phyllis Farris Pollard, Benjamin Keith Farris (Sandy), Michael Alan Farris (Gena’), Sharon Farris Hughes (Rodney), and Janelle Farris McDougal (Scott); 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and a great number of nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service at 2pm Friday, January 8, 2021 at Bethel United Methodist Church on Dysartsville Rd. with Dr. Pat Looper officiating.
