Dorothy Cook Gasperini of Connelly Springs, NC passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Grace Hospital. Born in New Bern, NC, she was the daughter of the late Garrett Foster Cook and Elizabeth Beulah Blackburn Cook. Dorothy was of the Baptist Faith.A loving wife and mother, she is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Gasperini-Brennan of Phoenix, AZ; a son, Garry Gasperini of Bardstown, KY; grandchildren Julie G. Bohdde, Natalie Gasperini and Marley Gasperini ,two great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn C. Register, Sara C. Keel, and Marion C. Haddock and a special friend Lori Miller.In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur James Gasperini; Jr. a son, Butchie Gasperini; brothers, George and Garrettt Cook; and a sister, Barbara C. Dickinson.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh. with the Reverend Dr. Roy Summerfield officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
