Dorothy "Dot" Lingerfelt Powell Trammell

Dorothy “Dot” Lingerfelt Powell Trammell, 86 of Bostic, NC went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2016. Born in Burke County, NC on June 1, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Harold Herman Lingerfelt and Ruby McMahan Lingerfelt.
Dot was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of South Side Baptist Church.
Mrs. Trammell is survived by her daughters, Shirley Fox and Bill Bowman of Morganton and Rosetta Lancaster and Frank of Bostic; ten grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Elsie Saucier, Josephine Whisnant, and Betty Mull.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Trammell was preceded in death by her husband, James Trammell; first husband, James “Bud” Powell; daughter, Norma Faye Butler; granddaughter, Sarah Butler; and brother, Bobby Lingerfelt.
The family will receive friends, from 10:00 – 11:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
