Dorothy M. Haynes

Dorothy M. Haynes, 88, of Drexel, NC died Thursday, February 14, 2013. Born in Burke County, NC on April 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Shub Huffman and Hester Butler Huffman. Dorothy was a member of Bridgeport Baptist Church. She retired from Shadowline Industries and also sewed for her neighbors.Dorothy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Stanley Haynes of the home; sons, Gary Haynes and his wife, Deborah, Daryl Haynes and his wife, Brenda, Carl Haynes and his wife, Wilma, and Wayne Haynes and his wife, Ruth, all of Morganton; a daughter, Janet Smith of Hudson, NC; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin Huffman of Morganton; a sister, Pauline Roper of Morganton; and a number of nephews and nieces.In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev.
