Douglas James Reed

Douglas James Reed, age 61, of Hudson, Florida, died August 6, 2010, at his home in Morganton. He was born in Hartford, Wisconsin on April 17, 1949, to Kenneth and Anita Reed. He was a graduate of Hartford High School, Class of 1967, and went on to study real estate at University of Wisconsin Madison, where he received a Masters degree in 1975. He spent most of his working years with UPS, retiring in 2003. Douglas devoted many hours to volunteer work, particularly with Habitat For Humanity, United Way, South Pointe Home Owners Association, and Rotary.He was preceded in death by his father. Douglas leaves behind his wife Mary; sons Ryan (Erika), Christopher (Sonya), and Adam; brothers Stephen (Karen) and Richard (Lynn); sister Joan (Steve) Scheu; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.The visitation will be held at10 a.m., followed by the funeral mass at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 10, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Morganton, with Father Kenneth Whittington officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Wisconsin.
