Doyle Adrian Gragg

Doyle Adrian Gragg, 91, of Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his residence. He was born on July 19, 1926 in Caldwell County to the late Hardie Columbus Gragg and Viola G. Gragg.
Mr. Gragg was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a charter member and deacon at Brown Mountain Beach Baptist Church where he was still an active member. He was a true jack of all trades, craftsman, farmer, mechanic, and poultry grower, just to name a few. Doyle loved people and he loved to laugh. His heart would smile when he had all of his family together.
Mr. Gragg is survived by daughter, Kaye Poteet and husband, Tommy and sons, Bobby Gragg and wife, Dorothy, Billy Gragg and wife, Patti, and Jeffrey Gragg and wife, Marsha. He is also survived by grandchildren, Travis Poteet and wife, Stephanie, Todd Poteet and wife, Samantha, Sarah Harrison and husband, Ben, Josh Gragg and wife, Jennifer, Trent Gragg, Mason Gragg, Bailey Gragg, Banks Hinceman and wife, Renee, and Todd Hinceman and wife, Monica; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Jack and Jerry Gragg; and sisters, Elaine Henderson and Louise Gragg.
In addition to his parents, Doyle was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Vineola Josephine Pritchard Gragg and a number of brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Brown Mountain Baptist Church at 2046 Brown Mountain Beach Road. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the church with Rev. Doug St. John and Rev. John Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the North Carolina National Guard and Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
