Dwane Harris

Dwane Harris, 77, of Morganton, NC died Monday, November 14, 2016. Born in Yancey County, NC, on March 16, 1939, he was a son of the late Dan Harris and Abbie Stevens Harris.
Dwane loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed raising cows and horses. Dwane was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Dwane was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Woody and brothers, Gail, Burl, and Garrell Harris.
Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Betty Clarke Harris of the home; a daughter, Tammy Harris Andrews of Morganton; a son, Joe Harris and wife, Brenda of Burnsville, NC; a grandson, Benjamin Harris; and sisters, Janet Grindstaff of Burnsville, NC, Jearleen Roberts of Roam, GA, and Jarvis Wilson of Burnsville, NC.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Bess officiating.
