Dylan Paul Chapman

Dylan Paul Chapman, 22, of Morganton, NC, entered his eternal home on Sunday, October 9, 2016, as a result of a bicycle accident in 2013 which left him with a Traumatic Brain Injury. He was born on July 5, 1994 in Iredell County to Cheree Chapman Waddell. Dylan was a loving son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend. He was dearly loved by all who knew him. He graduated from Hallyburton Academy in 2012. Dylan loved hunting, fishing, outdoors and music. He attended Grace Baptist Church where he played the guitar and drums. He was a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 182 in Morganton. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Deborah Autrey and his maternal great-grandparents, Paul and Martha Parker.

Dylan is survived by his parents, Gordon and Cheree Waddell and sister, Kayla Waddell of the home; maternal grandparents, Terry Sr. and Lisa Chapman of Statesville; paternal grandparents, George and Edith Waddell of Morganton; aunt, Melissa Chandler; uncles, Terry Chapman, Jr. and Josh Chandler; uncles and aunts, Geoffrey and Samantha Waddell, Leo and Emma Watson, Chad and Mary Smith; cousins, Melonie and Courtney Chapman, Bianca Chandler, Sophia Bowles, Anthony, Drew, Travis and Avery Watson, Zachary and Gavin Smith, Grayden and Jenna Waddell; and Sean Mitchell.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30pm on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Grace Baptist Church, 1939 Paul Shuping Ave., Morganton, NC. The service will begin at 3:30pm at the church with the Rev. Marty Bess and the Rev. George Patton officiating. Burial will follow at the Waddell-Chapman Cemetery.
