Earl B. Boyd, 81, of Morganton passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018. Born in Burke County, NC on October 5, 1936, he was the son of the late Walter Blackburn Boyd and Ethel Frances Padgett Boyd. Earl owned and operated Boyd Sheet Metal and Roofing. Even in retirement, Mr. Boyd was making items out of sheet metal. He also loved to hunt and fish.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Earlene Boyd Kincaid (Robert) of Morganton; grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Hensley, Kyle Blackburn Brown, and William Reid Boyd Kincaid; great-grandchildren, Bailey Shelton and Madelyn Brown; brother, Ralph Boyd (Gloria); sisters-in-law, Betty and Nina Boyd; and his former wife, Patricia Elrod.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by 4 brothers, William Eugene, James, Richard, and Harold Boyd.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Snow Hill United Methodist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Rev. Rich Magnuson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
