Earl Thomas Walker, 77, of Morganton, NC passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019. Born October 16, 1941 in Burke County, he was a son of the late Walter Thomas Walker and Eunice Smith Walker. Earl loved truck driving.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Carl, Troy, and Clifford Walker.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Mary Hipps Walker; children, Judy Carrera (Jose), Linda Green (Ike), Troy Walker, David Riddle, and Jimmy Riddle (Becky); Maria Reyes and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, William Walker, Howard Walker, and Janice Hemphill.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, September 30 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 1 at Faith Temple Tabernacle Church on Fox Gap Street with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
