Ed Brooks Snipes

Ed Brooks Snipes, 65, of Lincolnton, NC died Friday, September 13, 2013 at his residence. Born in Burke County, NC on August 29, 1948, he was the son of the late Richard Brooks Snipes and Ethel Verlene Cline Snipes. Ed was a member of West Side Community Church. He was a loving, wonderful, beautiful husband, and was known as "Honey" by his grandkids. He enjoyed computers and was a fan and collector of NASCAR memorabilia.Ed is survived by wife, Maria "Lupe" Pizano Snipes of the home; son, Carlos Miranda and his wife, Ashley of Lincolnton, NC; daughter, Janeth Miranda and husband, Armando of Morganton, NC; Laura Santamaria and husband, Julio of Virginia; cousins, Laura Butler and husband, Randy of Cary, NC; Nancy Burns and husband Bill of Drexel, NC; aunts and uncles, Claris and Benjamin Snipes, Kay and the Rev. Charles Lethcoe, Carol and Stephen Peck, and Francis Snipes; and six grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by a cousin, Harriet Patricia "Pete" Snipes.Cryptside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with Dr. Jack Ford officiating.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Westside Community Church, 2500 Crescent Lane, Gastonia, NC 28034.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
