Eddie Joe Condrey

Eddie Joe Condrey, 80, of Morganton ended his earthly journey and entered his heavenly home on Sunday, February 23, 2020.  Born in McDowell County, NC on August 26, 1939, he was the son of the late William Herman Condrey and Texanna Ayers Condrey.  Eddie was a member of Zion Baptist Church and retired from Shadowline.

Mr. Condrey was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed camping at Linville Rivers End Campground.  He also enjoyed working in his garden.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Pat Stillwell Condrey of the home; children, Jody Condrey and Kellie Condrey Rumfelt (Bruce), all of Marion; step-son, Jimmy Bailey (Renee) of Morganton; grandchildren, Phoebe White, Tyler Brinn, Jessica Condrey, Daniel Bailey, and Hannah Bailey; three great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Condrey Mull (Clyde) of Morganton; sister-in-law, Patsy Condrey of Pineville, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by brothers, William Harold Condrey and Johnny Condrey; and a sister, Elsie Condrey.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Keith Rose and Rev. Kevin Gauthier officiating.  Burial will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
