Edgar "Eddie" Graham Simpson

Edgar "Eddie" Graham Simpson, Jr., 60, of Glen Alpine, NC died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Carolina Rehabilitation Center of Burke in Connelly Springs. Born on September 29, 1948, he was the son of Trudy Simpson and the late Edgar Simpson, Sr. Eddie graduated from Glen Alpine High School in 1966 and from Western Carolina University in 1970.In addition to his father, Eddie was preceded in death by his grandparents, H. G. and June Simpson and Phylander and Oree Anderson.In addition to his mother, Eddie is survived by a daughter, Leslie Adair George and husband, Kevin, of Taylorsville, NC; a son, Jeremy Simpson and wife, Chrystal, of Gretna, VA; grandchildren, Kamden and Keaton George, and Kinsley and Ava Graye Simpson; and his former wife, Janice.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2009 at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Neil George officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church, P.O. Box 603, Glen Alpine, NC 28628.
