Edith Yvonne Chapman Pritchard

Edith Yvonne Chapman Pritchard, 74, of Morganton passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 11, 2019.  Born in Burke County, NC on April 27, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Frank Chapman and Elsie Mae Smith Chapman.  Edith was a devoted sister and aunt who loved her family dearly.  She enjoyed music, dancing, and taking care of her family and dog.

Edith is survived by her son, Cling “Robert” Roberts; sisters, Eula Chapman Baker, Shirley Chapman Teague, Carolyn Chapman Norville, Dianne Chapman Harvey, Judy Chapman Abee, Betty Chapman Carter, Mattie Chapman Satterwhite, and Doris Chapman Hoilman; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; special friend, Joe Eddy Roper; and her beloved dog, Daisy.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Bennett Monroe Pritchard; and sisters, Bonnie Chapman Ross and Azalee Chapman Franklin.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Boone officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
