Edna Hern Bauguss

Edna Hern Bauguss, 99, of Morganton earned her heavenly wings on Saturday, May 26, 2018.  Born in Burke County, NC on September 6, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Edward Hern and Beatrice Grace Suddreth Hern.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church.  Edna retired from Robin’s Nest and had worked at Burands and Hallies clothing stores.  She was a classy lady up to the end.  Even at the age of 99 ½ she continued to wear makeup, earrings, and dress to the nines every day.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Paulette Bauguss (Allen) Barrier of Morganton and Rebecca Bauguss Ames of Palm Springs, CA; grandchildren, Monica B. Keller, Paula B. Hunt, Martha Jo Barrier, Brian Patrick Ames, and John F. Ames, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Skyler Keller, Tarayn Keller, Braxton Keller, Harrison Hunt, Ella Hunt, Makayla Barrier, Hannah Ames, and Matthew Ames.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bauguss was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Baugess; and 2 sisters, Hazel Ferree and Rachel Perrou.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Summit Community Church.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.  At other times the family will be at the home of Allen and Paulette Barrier.
