Edna Lovelace Carswell

Edna Lovelace Carswell, 76, of Morganton, NC died Friday, November 21, 2014. Born November 22, 1937 in Rutherford County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Nelson Lovelace and Zennie Toney Lovelace. Edna loved flowers of all kinds, crafts, and music.
A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Edna is survived by her husband, James “Sarge” Carswell of the home; sons, Gary Carswell and wife, Penny of Thomasville, NC, and Terry Carswell and wife, Kandi of Morganton; a daughter, Cathy Kirby and husband, Bill of Morganton; grandchildren, John Webb, Allison Carswell, Jamie Carswell, and Christian Carswell; a great-grandchild, Dylan Webb; and a sister, Faye Oxentine of Forest City, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 24, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
