Edna Walker McGalliard

Edna Walker McGalliard, 91, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, November 8, 2016. She was born on February 23, 1925 in Burke County, NC and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Junior Walker and Mary Bertha Dale Walker. Edna was a retired employee of Alba Waldensian where she had worked for over 35 years. She loved to entertain family and friends on her front porch. Edna was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of Crosslink Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse McGalliard; and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a son, Steve E. McGalliard and wife, Cindi of Glen Alpine; granddaughter, Christy McGalliard; and sisters, Mildred Hawkins and Carolyn Cook all of Morganton.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2016 at Crosslink Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Jonathan Reece officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Crosslink Church, 910 Carbon City Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
