Edward George Kearns

Edward George Kearns, 68, of Morganton, formerly of Marlborough Rd. North Haven, CT, died Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Durham Veterans Medical Center in Durham, NC. Edward was born June 12, 1943 in New Haven, CT to the late Joseph "Bus" Kearns and Annamae Houston Kearns. He was known for his smile and easy going personality. Edward was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967.Edward is survived by his wife, Denise Connolly Kearns; children, Edward J. Kearns of West Haven, CT and Kristin Callahan and her husband, Tim of North Haven, CT; step-children, Christopher Smith and Hillary Smith both of Wallington, CT and Bret Smith of Shelton, CT; a brother, William Kearns and his wife, Nancy of Branford, CT; a niece, Nicole Cosgrove and her husband, Jamie; a nephew, Billy Kearns; great-nieces, Ava and Lila; and the mother of his children Frances Kearns.A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice. Sossoman Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family.
