Edward Glenn Kurtz, 94, of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at Magnolia Lane. Born October 31, 1922, in Genessee County, Michigan, he was the son of the late Edward Julius Kurtz and Inez Rierson Kurtz.
Mr. Kurtz was a WWII United States Army veteran. For many years, Edward was an employee of the United States Postal Service and a retired employee from A.C. Sparkplug in Flint, Michigan. He was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Kurtz is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sutphin Kurtz; son, Ed Kurtz and wife, Connie of Valdese; grandchildren, Chris Kurtz and wife, Joy, Jason Kurtz and wife, Teresia, and Sarah Morgan and husband, Ryan all of Morganton; and great-grandchildren, Anna Grace Kurtz, Ava and Jaxon Kurtz, and Madison and Avery Morgan.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his first wife, Stella Roberts Kurtz.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 at El Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Cooper and Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Military honors will be provided by North Carolina National Guard.
