Edward Lee Swink

Edward Lee Swink, Sr., 59, of Old Hwy 18 South in Morganton walked with his Heavenly Father Thursday, August 20, 2009. He was born September 23, 1949 in Burke County, and was a son of the late Fred Pauley Swink and Mallie Louise Stamey Swink. He was an employee of Parker Industries.Edward is survived by his former wife, Vickie Swink Nettles of Orangeburg, SC; sons, Edward Lee Swink, II, and Wesley Howard Swink, both of Morganton, and Samuel Aaron Swink of Orangeburg, SC; daughters, Victoria Elizabeth Swink and Elisha LeAnna Swink, both of Morganton; step-daughters, Jennifer Christine Schachtschneider of Hickory, and Amelia Chasity McGee of Morganton; brothers, Fred, Bob, and Jim Swink, all of Morganton; and a sister, Betty Spicer of Boone, NC; and twelve grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Howard Swink; and a grandson, Elijah Wilson Swink.Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2009 at the Swink Family Cemetery on Old Highway 18 in Morganton. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
