Elfriede Gietzkovsky Case

Elfriede Gietzkovsky Case, 74 of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in Burke Hospice Palliative Care Center. Born September 3, 1940 in Czechoslovakia, she was a daughter of the late Hermon and Josephine Grasser Gietzkovsky. For ten years, she was a devoted volunteer at Grace Hospital. Elfriede was a loving mother, grandmother, and wonderful "Oma". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Gietzkovsky and a sister, Elisabeth Smith.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, David Case and his wife, Sherry of Morganton; daughter, Elizabeth Watson and her husband, Doug of Deep Gap, NC; grandsons, Dustin Watson and his wife, Veronica and their children, Deovion and Parker, Levi Watson and his wife, Lauren, Asa Watson, Chad Case, and Michael Case; brother, Kurt Gietzkovsky of Germany; sister, Margret Grossman of Germany; nephew, Donald Smith; nieces, Anita Searcy and her husband, Dean and Betty McNeill and her husband, Brad.
A service to celebrate Elfriede's life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. Andy Watson officiating. Memorial gifts may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
