Elim Ray Brotherton, 56, of Morganton, NC, died Thursday, March 10, 2016. He was born in Burke County on August 10, 1959 to the late Junior Brotherton and Margaret Moffitt Brotherton. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glinith Murry Hyde Brotherton.
He is survived by a brother, Johnny Brotherton of Liberty, NC; sisters, Peggy Barr and Brenda Edmonds and husband, Dean, all of Hendersonville, NC, Frances Barr of Granite Falls, NC, Shirley Huffman and husband, Steve, Glenda Nissen and Mary Walker all of Morganton, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am, Saturday, March 12, 2016 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. The service will begin at 11:00 am with the Rev. Shawn Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
