Elizabeth Ervin, 83, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Born in Brunswick, GA on October 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Charles Carter and Rosa Lee Atkinson Carter. Elizabeth was a member of St. Charles Catholic Borromeo Church and was a registered psychiatric nurse for over 30 years. She touched everyone she met in some special way and was truly an angel on earth.
Mrs. Ervin is survived by her son, Samuel Ervin, Jr. of Morganton; a sister, Rutha Carter of Tinton Falls, NJ; several nieces and nephews; a god-daughter, Tanli Carlton of Lenoir, NC; and her canine companions, Fife, Paris, Queenie, and Bailey and her seven puppies.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Ervin, Sr.; sisters, Vernel Walker, Pauline Young, Doris Harris, and Ruby Mae Byrd; and her deceased canine companions, Penny, Rex, Gigi, Maz, Poochie, Missy, Royal, and many more.
The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2015 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Whittington officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
