Elizabeth Kincaid Conley

Elizabeth Kincaid Conley, 93, of Stephens Rd., Morganton passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014. Born in Burke County on March 29, 1920, she was a daughter of the late James Henry Kincaid and Mary Jane Bean Kincaid. In addition to her parents, Lib was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Conley; a son, Bobby Conley; a number of brothers and sisters; and her son-in-law, Rex Dale.Lib was an extraordinary person—loving, gentle, kind, patient, and quiet, but strong. She was a devoted wife and mother, whose love was always there. She was an accomplished homemaker with many talents, including sewing, needlepoint, cooking, and gardening. As a charter member of El Bethel Baptist Church, she remained strong in her faith and walked with the Lord every day.She is survived by her children, Jim Conley and his wife, Linda, and Nita Dale all of Morganton; grandchildren, Dana Thompson and her husband, Cameron, Tanya Conley, Greg Witmer and his wife, Jan, and David Witmer and his wife, Brooke; great-grandchildren, Daylin and Carter Thompson, Whitney Conley, and Lily and Paisley Witmer; and a brother, Cecil Kincaid of Morganton.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at El Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Cooper and Rev. David Bean officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
