Elizabeth “Peg” Willis, 76, of Atlanta, Georgia, entered heaven on March 17, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Born on May 1, 1948, in High Point, North Carolina, Peg, as she would be known from childhood, arrived as the third child of Rubye G. Bissette and Winston L. Bissette, quickly becoming a bright light in their family. Peg earned a degree from East Carolina College in 1970. After graduation she taught 6th grade in High Point before heading to Atlanta to begin a professional career in telecommunications. This move and career led her to meet the love of her life, Pete. Their story was full of adventure, laughter, and love. Peg and Pete were married March 25, 1992.

Peg embraced life with an infectious spirit. Whether on the golf course, around a bridge table, or deep in a game of cards with family, she made every moment fun. She and Pete traveled the world, taking off for weeks at a time, often with just a small suitcase, and returning with many adventures and memories.

She loved family fiercely! Peg always brought the fun and people of all ages were drawn to her sense of humor, easy and warm personality, and infectious laugh. Peg adored children and they loved her deeply in return. She was generous and kind, always there for friends and family. Peg had a way of making those she loved feel truly special. Her humor, warmth, and unwavering generosity left an imprint on everyone she met.

After a heroic fight, Peg lost her battle with cancer at home with her loving husband by her side.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Herbert Peter Willis; her brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Sara Bissette; her sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Lamar Nix; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Sharon Willis; her treasured nieces and nephews, Alisa Willis, David Willis, Louis Bissette, Thomas Bissette, Betsy Wilson, and Mary Caneer; and her beloved grandchildren, Reece and Riley Wilson. She also leaves behind great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends who became family.

Peg’s legacy of joy, kindness, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A graveside service to honor Peg’s incredible journey will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Forest Hill Cemetery.

We Dearly Loved Our Peg.

We are still stunned and in a state of disbelief over Peg’s death. She and Pete have been our friends for over 35 years and Bob and Pete more like 50+ years. Our hearts are broken and Peg, you will be terribly missed. We send our love to Pete and all of the extended family and we will be there to say goodbye. Love you Peg.
