Elizabeth S. Rusmisell

Elizabeth S. Rusmisell, 88, of Grace Ridge in Morganton died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Grace Ridge Health Care Center following a period of declining health. Born October 27, 1921 in Mecklenburg Co. NC, she was a daughter of the late Alonzo C. Stephens and Ira Stephens Dobson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and loved flower gardening. Elizabeth was dedicated to the children of the North Carolina School for the Deaf where she had worked as a dietician.She is survived by her husband, Fred F. Rusmisell of the home; a son, Steve Rusmisell and wife, Jan, of Tyrone, GA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Keith Rusmisell; two brothers and one sister.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 407 S. Green St., Morganton, NC 28655, or to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
