Elizabeth Tilson Byerly

Elizabeth Tilson Byerly, 77, of Gillam St., Morganton died Sunday, July 27, 2008 following a period of declining health. She was born in Charleston, SC on October 18, 1930 and was a daughter of the late Milton Earl Tilson Sr. and Amy Frances Fash Tilson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry William Byerly; a brother, Milton Earl Tilson, Jr., and a great-granddaughter, Maddison Garrington. Mrs. Byerly was a retired employee of Estes Plumbing.Elizabeth was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Ellen Brittain and her husband, Rick, Susan Byerly Walker and her husband, Mark, and Amy Dyson all of Morganton; grandchildren, Ashley Garrington and her husband, John, Kirk Brittain, Elizabeth Rudicill and her husband, Clay, Joshua Mark Walker, and Steven and Hannah Dyson; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Courtney Garrington and Lauren and Katherine Rudicill; a brother, William Tilson of Myrtle Beach, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Historic Salisbury National Cemetery.
