Ellen Lawyer, 50, of Conley Road, Morganton, NC died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville, NC. Born in Goshen, IN, she is the daughter of Karl and Evelyn Hoover. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents and son-in-law. Ellen was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ where she loved to play the piano for church services. She was known for her love of teaching at Table Rock Middle School and most importantly, her love for her family.She is survived by her husband, Michael Lawyer of the home; daughters, Bethany Bobo and Renee Atkins and husband, Michael, all of Morganton; sisters, Mary Stephens of Morganton and Jane Lollis of St. Cloud, FL; and a number of nieces and nephew.The memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Mr. Carl Bowles officiating.
