Ellen Turner Walk Sheets

Ellen Turner Walk Sheets, 82, of Dogwood St., Morganton, NC died Sunday, November 09, 2008 at Grace Hospital. Born September 3, 1926 in Washington County, VA, she was a daughter of the late John Van Walk and Rosie Davidson Walk. Ellen was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She dearly loved her family, her church, and all of God’s creatures. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lee Sheets; an infant daughter, Bessie Sheets; a son, Carl Wayne Sheets, Sr.; a grandson, Jayden Lee Peyton; and sisters, Irene Ferguson, Christina Walk, Lora Bell Walk, and Lonnie Mae Walk.Surviving are her sons, Robert Lee Sheets and his wife, Norma of Lexington, SC, Charles "Wolf" Walk and Lee Sheets both of Morganton; daughters, Saunders Janette Bryant and her husband, Larry and Jean Patton and her husband, Kenneth all of Morganton; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; and a brother, Elmer Walk of Radcliffe, KY.The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Antioch Baptist Church with the Reverends Clarence Cornell and Jerrill Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sossoman Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
