Eloise McLean

Eloise McLean, 84, of Morganton, NC went home to be with her husband and the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2016.  Born in Burke County, NC on September 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Willie Webb Morrison and Annie Mae Clontz Morrison.  Eloise was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.  She had worked at Skyland Textiles until 1969, when she quit working to take care of her husband.  She enjoyed camping with her family and very involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Eloise loved to sew and was very proud to be a volunteer at Glen Alpine Elementary School for many years.

Mrs. McLean is survived by her son, Tony L. McLean and his wife, Peggy, of Glen Alpine, NC; a daughter, Ruby Jenkins and her husband, Raymond, of Morganton; grandchildren, Nathan McLean and his wife, Rachael, Jessica Jones and her husband, Tommy, Lisa Beck and her husband, William, and Chris Jenkins; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Morrison and his wife, Emma; and a sister, Dorothy Brittain and her husband, Verlie.

In addition to her parents, Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Fletcher McLean; and four brothers, Glen, Kenny, Bob, and Carl Morrison.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm, Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with the Rev. David Stikeleather and the Rev. Michael Morrison officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
