Eloise Orders Garrell

Eloise Orders Garrell, 91, of Charlotte, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2022.

Born in Burke County, NC on November 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Roy Orders and Effie Mills Orders.  Eloise was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Holden Beach.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who dearly loved her family.  She also loved her church and gospel music.  Eloise enjoyed doing ceramics, but most enjoyed traveling and camping with her family.

Mrs. Garrell is survived by her daughter, Linda Simpson (Mark); grandchildren, Brandie Ferguson, Jackie Sells, Bradd Johnson, and Angela “Sissy” Liner; great-grandchildren, Sydney, McKenzie, Maggie, Madison, Dylann, Annabel, Sam, Timothy, and Ellie Grace; nephews, Johnny Orders, Jeff Orders, and Jerry Cloninger; and a number of extended family.

In addition to her parents, Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Garrell; son, Jerry Lee Garrell; brother, Alva Orders; and sister, Lena Cloninger.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Rick Truesdale officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Charlotte Christian School, 7301 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC 28270.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of The Pines of Carmel for the loving, compassionate care shown to Eloise.
