Elsie Sisk Harris

Elsie Sisk Harris, 95 of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care.  Born October 25, 1922 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Beattie Avery Sisk and Belle McGimsey Sisk.

Mrs. Harris was a veteran of the United States Navy WAVES serving during WWII.  She was a member of Mountain Grove United Methodist Church.  She loved wildflowers and was an avid walker.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Granville “Buck” Yager Harris and sister, Sybil MacDow.

Mrs. Harris is survived by brothers, Robert “Bob” Sisk and Charles W. Sisk and wife, Peggy all of Morganton; step-daughter, Grace Barber of Daytona Beach, Florida; step-grandchildren, William Robert “Bo” Bardot, Jr.,   and Laura Bardot; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

The memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy McAbee officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hope Ridge Family Care and Burke Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassion, comfort and kindness given to Elsie.
