Emily Louise Woodard

Emily Louise Woodard, 93, of Magnolia Dr. in Morganton was called home to be with her Savior, Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Britthaven Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born July 3, 1917 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ella Ervin Woodard. Emily was a member of Table Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church since 1977 and was a domestic worker for over 37 years.Emily is survived by a sister, Charlie Mae Poole of Morganton; a brother, William Woodard Sr. of Morganton; nephews, Howard Poole, Johnny, Kevin, and Charles Woodard; nieces, Nancy Gibbs, Kay Shade, Brenda Tugman, Diane Manning, and Barbara Conley; and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Woodard; sisters, Laura Michaux, Margaret Crutchfield, and Agnes Woodard; nephew, William Woodard, Jr.; and a niece, Karen Johnson.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Annandale officiating. Burial will follow in the Table Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
