Emma Martin Randall

Emma Martin Randall, 87, of Morganton died Saturday, April 21, 2018.  Born in Cleveland County, NC on June 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Julius Martin and Biddie Hastings Martin.  She retired from the North Carolina School for the Deaf in 1995.  Emma was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.  She was a longtime volunteer with the Central Blue Ridge Task Force of the Mountains to Sea Trail and an AARP/CoMMA volunteer.

She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Terry) Chalk of Augusta, GA and Randy Morgan of High Point, NC; son-in-law, Joe Freiberg of Charlotte, NC; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and her long-time best friend, Weldon Brittain of Morganton.

In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Lucius “Luke” Randall; daughter, Sandy Randall Freiberg; son-in-law, Grady Morgan, Jr.; great-grandson, Gavin Michael Chalk; 7 brothers; and 2 sisters.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Pleasant View Baptist Church.  The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the church with the Dr. Rex Shaver officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, 1834 Hwy 70 East, Morganton, NC 28655.
