Ernestine "Tina" Parsons

Ernestine "Tina" Parsons, 65, of Morganton, NC died Monday, June 27, 2011 at Chesterfield Adult Care Center. Born in Cook County, IL on July 19, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Williams Parsons and Mary Belle Cook Parsons. Tina grew up in Jonas Ridge and was a former resident of New York City where she worked for many years in a jewelry store.She is survived by her son, Kenny Jordan, Jr.; a daughter, Sharon Jordan of Charlotte, NC; a brother, W. D. Parsons of Jekyll Island, GA; sisters, Judy Cattanach and husband, Mike, of Asheville, NC, Suzanna Parsons of San Francisco, CA, and Katherine Sorenson and husband, Scott, of San Francisco; and grandchildren, Brittany and Janiero.In addition to her parents, Tina was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Anne Laracuenti.The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 in Jonas Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
