Errol “Winston” Snyder

Errol “Winston” Snyder, 81, of Morganton, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022.

Born in West Virginia on April 1, 1941, he was the son of the late Lawrence Hal Snyder and Violet Pizor Snyder.  Mr. Snyder was a retired employee of the Burke County Tax Office.  Winston was a thinker who enjoyed puzzles, spreadsheets, and doing research.  He was a handyman who enjoyed building things and a family man who loved spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed traveling and seeing new places.

Winston is survived by one true love, his wife of 59 years, Carol Mastin Snyder; daughter, Carolyn Leonard and Cherie and husband, Craig Wasserman; grandchildren, Erika Kirk, Savannah Leonard, Rachel Wasserman, and Bradley Wasserman; and great-grandchildren, Christian and Abbey.

In addition to his parents, Winston was preceded in death by daughter, Cynthia “Elise” Corpening; and sister, Shirley Snyder Medlin.

A private family service is planned for Mr. Snyder.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
