Esper "Earl" Beam

Esper "Earl" Beam, Sr., 73, of Mountain Meadows Dr. in Morganton went home to be with Jesus, Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born December 20, 1934 in Lincolnton, NC, and was the son of the late Clarence Austin Beam and Minnie Bess Beam. Earl was of the Methodist faith, and enjoyed the outdoors, farming, and working with his horses. Earl loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Frances Willis Beam of the home; daughters, Janice Maynard, and Robin Willis and her husband, Gene, all of Morganton; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great- granddaughters.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Esper Earl Beam, Jr.; a great-grandson, Adam Chase Maynard; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Rogers.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Beam Family Cemetery in Morganton with Rev. Homer Murdock officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
