Estelle Branch Noland, 75, of Morganton, NC went to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 15, 2016. Born in Burke County, NC on October 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Julius O. Branch and Zelma Laws Branch Allen. Estelle worked at the Rainbow Grill, Western Steer, and A.J.’s Restaurant. She volunteered at many nursing homes to help provide entertainment for the residents; her group was known as John and the Sand Baggers. Mrs. Noland had many friends and was loved by all.
Estelle is survived by her sons, Rev. Robert Wayne Deaton and his wife, Clara Jean, of Boiling Springs, SC and Barry D. Whisnant of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Becky McMahon and her husband, Phillip, and Mozelle Allen, all of Morganton; and a number of nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, Estelle was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Dennis Branch; and a sister, Linda Stamey.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
