Estelle G. Black

Estelle G. Black, 88, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on June 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John Guigou and Zula Ann Willis Guigou. In addition to her parents, Estelle was preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph Black; and three brothers, Frank, Frances "Fritz", and Ernest Guigou.Estelle was a long-time member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church. She was a graduate of Glen Alpine High School and retired from Broughton Hospital.Mrs. Black is survived by eight nephews and nieces.The funeral will be held at 2pm, Friday, February 21, 2014 at Gibb’s Chapel Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Roger Brackett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2pm prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Gibb’s Chapel Wesleyan Church, 1741 Jamestown Road, Morganton, NC 28655.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
