Ethel Laughridge Spurlin

Ethel Laughridge Spurlin, 83, passed away at her home on Watershed Road on Thursday, March 5, 2009. She was a daughter of the late Andrew and Lissie Laughridge.She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Kiddy and her husband, Larry; her grandchildren, Emily Foss and her husband, Lance, and Mark Whisenant; five great-grandchildren; and by sisters, Estelle Carswell, Josephine Laughridge, and Eloise Conley.She was preceded in death by brothers, Howard and Lawrence Laughridge. Ethel and her sister, Josephine lived together at the old home place and looked after each other for many years.

The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral.
