Eula Mae Hyde

Eula Mae Hyde, 100, died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Valdese Hospital. She was born in Catawba County on May 22, 1914 and was a daughter of the late Fred and Lillie Mae Johnson Rhoney. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hyde was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hyde; brothers, Jessie, Edward, and David "Jay" Rhoney; and by sisters, Vergie Stroupe and Viola Robinson. She worked for many years at several area textile manufacturing companies until she retired to care for her parents. She attended High Peak Baptist Church.

Eula Mae was a loving and devoted sister and aunt and is survived by her sister, Essie King of Valdese and many nephews, nieces, and grand nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral with Rev. Ernie Richards officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to High Peak Baptist Church, 3073 High Peak Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
