Eva Mae Day, 76, of Morganton, NC died Saturday, August 24, 2019. She was born in Burke County on August 9, 1943 to the late Roy Moody and Dolly Killian Moody. Eva was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a child of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Nick Moody and Perry Shuford; sister, Shirley Clark.
Eva is survived by her husband, Johnny Day; daughters, Margie Day Colley (Robert), Gwen Gratton (Raymond), Dorothy Day, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Johnny Colley, Josh Day, Robin Colley, James Day, and Brandon Colley; great-grandchildren, Faith Colley, Hayden Day, and Crystal Day; and a number of step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm, Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Antioch Baptist Church. The service will begin at 2:00pm in the church with the Rev. Danny Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Eva was my mom. I miss her so much. she is the one who help me to learn about God. so I know one day- I will get to see her again. my heart still hurts, I don't think it will ever heal. I MISS YOU MOM. sending hugs and a big kiss up to heaven. it has taken me 4 years to come back here to this page. and it stills hurts to read this. i'll always be your little girl. gwen
