Evelyn Grayson Brewer

Evelyn Grayson Brewer, 83, of Morganton, NC went home to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Born in Rutherford County, NC on September 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Grady Grayson and Mamie Toney Grayson. Evelyn was a faithful member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her garden and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lester Brewer; daughter, Wanda Norman and husband, Gilbert, of Morganton, Chris Patton and husband, Ken, of Hildebran, and Becky Walker of Morganton; grandchildren, Steve Norman, Jeff Norman and friend, Melanie Bowden, Michael Patton and wife, Julie, and Tim Walker; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ruth Gurley of Rutherfordton, NC and Hazel Dale and husband, Ralph, of Morganton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Grayson; sisters, Beth Grayson and Lorraine Dale and a son-in-law, Richard Walker.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at Faith Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends Rocky Reese and Allen Fredell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
