Evelyn Lena Smith Jordan

Evelyn Lena Smith Jordan, 63, of Stonebridge Dr., Morganton, NC, died Friday, September 26, 2008, at her residence. She was born in Burke County on December 18, 1944 and was a daughter of the Blanche Swink Smith of Morganton and the late James Kelly Smith.Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Carl Jordan, of the home; sons, James Smith and Jason Smith both of Morganton, and William Jordan of Glen Alpine; daughters, Kathy Franklin of Drexel and Christine Patton and Denise Clark both of Morganton; sisters, Edna Sinclair of Columbia, SC Katherine Epley, Rosa Lee Smith and Mozelle Shehan all of Morganton, and Betty Clark of Jonas Ridge; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2008, at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel with Rev. Darvy Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
