Evelyn Thomas Nance

Evelyn Thomas Nance, 89, of Cohen Street, Drexel, NC, died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Grace Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Union County, NC on June 4, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Albert Thomas and Sophrona Braswell Thomas. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn A. Nance.Evelyn retired from Crestline Furniture and was a member of Zion Memorial United Methodist Church.She is survived by a son, Thomas Allen Nance; a daughter, Glenda Nance Turnmire and her husband, Gene, all of Drexel; a granddaughter, Angela Hudgins and her husband, Jeff; and great grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Hudgins, all of Morganton.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2007 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Reverend George Williams officiating. Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 pm on Sunday.
