Fay Rhodes Throneburg

Fay Rhodes Throneburg, 99, of the Chesterfield Community died Tuesday, January 5, 2021.  Born in Caldwell County, NC on February 4, 1921, she was the daughter of the late James C. “Bud” Rhodes and Lydia Belle “Lula” Rader Rhodes.  Fay was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Throneburg is survived by her son, Larry Throneburg (Gail); grandchildren, Randy Throneburg, Gary Throneburg (Sandy), Kim Throneburg (Charlie), Lloyd Puett (Joy), Selena Shuffler (Chris), Norman Joel Scalf (Kim), and Richard Adam Throneburg (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Zack Wagner (Katie), Trey Throneburg (Anya), Caitlyn Throneburg, Heather Valentine, Aaron Puett, Allison Throneburg, Lindsay Woody, Hannah Throneburg, Trevor Throneburg, Emma Throneburg, and Braxton Puett; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Rodger Vowell Throneburg; son, Gary Throneburg, Sr.; daughter, Nancy Throneburg; grandson, Rodger Throneburg; and sisters, Ruth McNeely, Cecil Cannon, and Hazel Coffey.

The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Revs. Doug St. John and Steve Curtis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
