Faye Jaynes

Faye Jaynes, 85, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Morganton Long-Term Care following an extended period of declining health.  She was born June 22, 1935 in Burke County, and was the daughter of the late David Alexander Patton and Cora Parlee Seagle Patton.  In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Jaynes.

Faye was raised in Morganton and was one of 11 children.  She married Baxter Jaynes in 1961.  She earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Piedmont Community College.  She was a longtime member of Hopewell Baptist Church and was employed by Hopewell Baptist Church as a bookkeeper with over 20 years of service. Faye enjoyed painting, antiques, along with gardening with her husband and together, they were able to have a large vegetable garden and grow Old English Boxwoods as a hobby. Faye and Baxter were able to travel to Ireland and England shortly after Baxter retired.

Faye is survived by her son, Jon Jaynes (Angie) of Morganton, NC, son, Van Jaynes and wife, Robyn of Harrisburg, NC; grandchildren, Andrew Jaynes and Allyson Jaynes, both of Harrisburg, NC.

A private family service will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Emory officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Hopewell Baptist Church, 1112 Hopewell Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
