On Monday afternoon, January 28, 2013, Faye McNeely Seamon, age 95, went home to be with Jesus. She resided at Grace Heights Rehabilitation Center which Faye called home. Faye had many admirable traits, and was a home-loving person who had always been accustomed to a quiet life.Faye McNeely Seamon was born in Burke County on March 31, 1917, and was a daughter of the late Joe McNeely and Jessie FinCannon. Ms. Seamon worked in the medical field for many years. She married Robert Seamon in 1967 and relocated to Huntersville, NC where she and her husband operated a local hardware store while also unselfishly caring for her mother who lived to be 98 years of age. After retiring, Faye made her home on McNeely Drive in Morganton.In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Seamon; brothers, Jake, Ed, Pete, Harold, and Max McNeely; and a sister, Alda McNeely.One of Faye’s last requests was that a graveside service be held at Burke Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. The service will be at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 with Mr. Calvin Sossoman officiating. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
