Fleta Louise Horney Parlier

Fleta Louise Horney Parlier, 84, of Crawley Dale Street, Morganton, NC died Friday, April 10, 2009 at Grace Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Avery County, NC on February 4, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Frank Horney and Lydia Carver Horney. Fleta was a member of Grace Baptist Church.She is survived by her sons, Frank Parlier and wife, Janet, of Roxboro, NC and Ray Parlier and wife, Betty, of Morganton; a daughter, Gladys Cooper and husband, Carl, of Morganton; a sister, Rosa Hodge of Fletcher, NC; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Fleta was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Reece Parlier; a son, Jerry Parlier; a daughter, Nellie Dale, and two grandsons.The funeral will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, April 13, 2009 at Grace Baptist Church with Reverends Marty Bess and Rex Ware officiating. Burial will follow in Mull’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Grace Baptist Church from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. before the service.
