Florence Sain Dale

Florence Sain Dale, 94, of Royal St., Morganton, NC, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. Born in Lincoln County, NC on January 31, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison Sain and Mary Willis Sain. Florence was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was a retired employee of Western Carolina Center and was a former co-owner of Dale’s Grocery on Hwy 64.She is survived by son Jim Dale and wife, Hazel, of Morganton; a son-in-law, Robert Barnes of Rock Hill, SC; a brother, B. H. Sain of Lawndale, NC; grandchildren, David Dale, Michael Barnes, Debbie Allen, and Pat McFadden; and great-grandchildren, Erika and Hunter Dale, Lauren and Matthew Barnes, Audrey and Jennifer Allen, and Greg McFadden.In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Dale Barnes, and a grandson, Gregory Allen Dale.The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Freshour officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
